I am considering buying an extended warranty for this car, as I want to give it to my son. I just had the transmission replaced. I was wondering if it is worth buying the warranty, or not. Besides the transmission, are there any other major problems people have experienced with this car at mileages above 90,000?

I have had two of these '97 Transports over the last 7 years. Have had the transmission rebuilt in one of them and had main bearings wiped in the engines of both. Had to have both engines rebuilt with new crank and bearings. I don't reccomend keeping these vehicles if over 150,000 miles. Lots of other problems, like Air Conditioning leaks, Radio CD player quit in both vehicles. Front Struts wear out quick. Lots of other minor but aggravating things.
