I have a 2000 Grand Prix where I blew the 3.1 motor out of. I had a 3.4 from a 99 Grand Am GT dropped in. The current ECU is the one from the 3.1. What is best option to get ECU for 3.4? Reprogram current ecu? Or can I plug and play a ECU from a grand am? Or would that also need to be reprogrammed?

You could do one of 2 things, get the ecm from the 99 gt and put it in or get the vin number from the 99gt and program it to the grand prix. Post back with any other questions.

It would be better from the doner car but if you get a vin from a vehicle with the same options and a vin that is close it should work.
