1998 Pontiac Grand Prix Stalled when put in drive

Sitting at stop light, engine died, put in park, restarted, placed in drive and engine died. Pushed to side lot. Started engine, worked in reverse, died in Drive and 3. Restarted engine, worked in reverse, 1 and 2, moved to 3 worked, put in drive and worked.

Two possible causes, one is the IAC (idle air control valve) which raises engine rpm by letting more air into engine when under load OR,

The TCC solenoid (torque convertor clutch), this locks convertor at certain speed and rpm, if solenoid gets stuck, it will cause engine to stall.
