1990 Pontiac Grand Prix 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 195ooo miles

could these lights be defective or what could it be? The car runs very good so far I bought it just 2 weeks ago any advice would be appreciated thank you all.

Your check engine light is on because you have a sensor that is ba.D. Your mileage is really bad because the car is running in what is called open loop. If you go to the site here for trouble code definitions it will tell you how to get them out and what they are. Look under OBD1
