I got into an accident some old people driving smacked my car head on. Their car had more damage done with minimal damage to my bumper. I called the auto body shop yesterday who stated all I needed was a new bumper. I called today to get an estimate and now they're saying my car isn't worth getting fixed because supposedly I need a new front end. I'm trying to figure out what does the front end consists of GOLD? For them to try and charge me 3000.00 for a used bumper. I know its b.S. But I need a second opinion. My headlights are still entact along with the bumper itself its just pushed inward aas if its not connected to the fenders. Nothings wrong with the fenders or the headlights, for that matter it wasn't a hard crash because my airbags ddnt deploy. Can you tell me if this can be a do it myself job, and if so what would I need to do?

You can always get a second opinion, but they may have found additional damage to the unibody, which would require it be straightened or any number of other problems.

Ask them to show you why the damage estimate increased.
