I have a 2000 pontiac grand am. It seems that is has problems shifting. I have had this problem for a while. No one can quite figure out what it is. Every time I got up a steep hill my car acts like it does not want to shift until I reach the peak of the hill, then when it does finaly shift it will act like someone is depressing and releasing the gas pedal constantly until I completely let off of the gas and hit it again. The car is acting very slow also. Also everytime I let off the gas the rpms kind of jump up and then go back down.

Is this a four speed automatic/overdrive? You might put in Drive rather than OD for a test drive, see if it helps? There may be an overdrive issue? I'm not a tranny specialist. Actually, I'm a (jack of all trades and a master of none). Lol
