1999 Pontiac Grand Am timing chain

My timing chain broke I had it repaired now when I try to start it it sounds like it has no compression could it be my heads or something els theirs no water in oil

Hello,

If the chain broke theres a good chance that the valves are bent, first thing I would check before assuming any internal damage would be to make sure the timing is perfect by checking the alignment marks for the cams and the crank, if the timing is correct I would assume some internal failure and opening the engine is the only way to see what happened.
