Engine Mechanical problem
1999 Pontiac Grand Am 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive 130000 miles

My car will startup normally but it will stay running for 15-20 seconds. Wat I mean is that I crank it, then it shut off after 20 seconds. It doesnt make any weird noiise nor does it shake.I put in a new battery and alternator but it still does the same thing.

Check security light if on or blinking, and suspect ignition switch try this reset procedure
if security light on and or blinking

Turn ignition switch to ON position. Momentarily turn ignition switch to START position, and then release to ON position. Do not start vehicle. Observe SECURITY indicator light for about 10 minutes. Light will turn off after about 10 minutes. Clear DTCs using scan tool

I tried that but it still shuts off. The check engine light turns on right before it shuts off. If I press the accelerator right after the check engine comes up it will stay running(it hesitates and rpm go up) but it will shut off as soon as I let go of the accelerator, help!
