1997 Pontiac Grand Am Security System

Every few days when I try to start the car, the dash light " Security" will flash and I can't start the car. I try to lock and unlock the car doors, some times when I use the spare key it works. Is there any way to disable or switch off the security system once and for all.
Please help I'm about to loose my job if I continue to be late from this problem and my husband is already unemployed. Thanks

I hate to say it, but it has to go to a dealer. They are the only ones with the proper equipment to check it. I wish I had a better answer for you, but it can't be disconnected.
