Interior problem
2002 Pontiac Firebird Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I am changing a latch on the right side of my 2002 Pontiac Firebird. The new latch is in but there are two rods. One attaches to the door handle from the latch. The other is attached to the latch, but I can't figure out what else it attaches to. The rod was loose when I took the panel off the door. So I know it goes somewhere.I just don't know where!

Thanks!

The other rod should connect to the lock cylinder in the door. Let me know if I was of any help.

Thank you for your reply! That makes perfect sense! The RH door is missing the lock cylinder. It's just part of the rod that actually goes through for the lock. That's why I couldn't find anything to connect the rod to. That's why none of the diagrams were making sense to me. Thank you so much! Finally! You have no idea how much help you've been!
