2000 Pontiac Firebird DTC P0440 & DTC P0506

When the "Service Engine Light" goes on a put a reading coding machine into the car's computer and generated the following two codes:

P0440 & P0506

Can you help me as to how can I fix the problems for these two codes with a local mechanics. Thanks you very much in advance

P0506 is idle speed to low, try cleaning the throttle body first, see if that works, if not might have a problem with the IAC valve, p0440 is EVAP system, check the following first, A loose, incorrect, defective or missing fuel tank cap.

"Â Disconnected, improperly routed, kinked or damaged EVAP system purge lines.

"Â A damaged EVAP system component.

"Â A loose, missing, or damaged service port dust cap and/or schrader valve. If this test ok then use a scan tool to command the vent and purge solenoid on/off to see if it works, if not have the evap sys smoked for any leaks.
