98 Pontiac Trans AM LS1, I ran the car out of gas a few times causing the fuel pump to go bad. I replaced the fuel filter and fuel pump. First problem is the car now takes 2 turns to start up. It will drive ok but I just cant give it to much gas or it will hesitate and bog down. If I floor it the car the just keeps bogging. If I give it gas it just bog and will only run at idle speed. For about 20 minutes. Also the check engine light came on after I changed the pump, the codes said the MAF and O2 sensors were bad. Ive heard those dont matter and that the fuel pump I bought is just faulty? What do you think?

Check the fuel pressure/ and the MAF and O2 sensors.

I've had similar problems with other vehicles doing this, it to would bog when accelerating. I put the reader on and found a fault with the MAF. Replaced it and no problem now.
