My power steering pump is making a metallic chirping sound. At first it would only happen after a long drive on the highway. Now it happens anytime i drive my car. What should i do?

the metal chirping sound sounds like a bearing in the pump, first make sure it is comming from the pump. then check all the belts, make sure the resevoir is full of fluid. you can pinpoint the location of the sound using a mechanics stethascope to hear the location of the noise. If the bearing is bad the best thing and easiest is to get another pump. You canTake the car to a repair shop just to have it checked. to see if the sound comes from somewhere else.
