My battery was taken out of my car and so my security on my radio reset. my radio will not take my password and just says inop when i try to put it in. I have tried letting my car run for an hour for the computer to restart and that did not work either. So my radio all the time just says LOC and will not work

if the radio is reading INOP, then you are entering the wrong code, or not following the correct procedure.

If these steps do not work then you have to contact a GM dealer.

Enter your secret code as follows.
Pause no more than 15 seconds between these steps.

1 LOC appears when the ignition is on.
2 press MIN and 000 will appear on the display.
3 press MIN again to make the last two digits agree with your code
4 press HR to make the first one or two digits agree with your code.
5 Press AM-FM after ou have confirmed that the code matches the secret code you have written down. The display will show SEC, indicating the radio is now operable and secure.
