1995 Pontiac Firebird 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

My friends car and has a million problems. Right now I think the linkage cable is loose, because he can not get the car into park. When it says its in park it really is in reverse. Where is the linkage cable located on this car? And is it the linkage cable?

I believe this has rods for linkage. Craw under the car (make sure it is secure and won't move) and check to see if somehting is loose or out of adjustment.
