The fuel pump quit working recently, so I put a new fuel pump in. I did go with a high performance pump so I had to cut and glue back together the plastic container the pump sits in. I also put on a new fuel filter at that time as well. Now it seems like the car starts hard and the fuel system will not hold pressure after you turn the car off. As soon as I turn the car off and check to see if I can squirt gas out of the schrader valve nothing comes out. I checked the regulator by sucking on the vacuum port of it to see if it held vacuum and it does. Where would be the next place to look to?

Hello
you either have a bad regulator, it may hold vacuum bet could noy be holding pressure. To check find the rubber return line and pinch it off, if the system holds pressure then you have a bad regulator. If system doesn't hold pressure then you have a bad check valve in the pump.
