1987 Pontiac Firebird V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I just finished installing my new 383. I started it up tonight and I ran it at 2000 rpm for 10 minutes, then I noticed the oil pressure gauge read 0. Im pretty sure its not the gauge thats off because when I first started it it was at 60+. Im not sure how long it was running with no oil pressure. Could I have done a lot of damage by running it with no oil pressure? What other reason than a bad oil pump might cause this?

Hi there,

check the pressure with a master gauge first, it would of been knocking its head off with 0 oil pressure, you may just have a faulty sender or gauge, do this first and re post your findings.
