1972 Pontiac Firebird timing

I need to know what the timing is on the cap not the moter please ty

If i'm thinking what you want is the firing order and placementon the cap. The firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 It fires Counter clockwise. The front of the engine will be considered 12:00. Number 1 will be at a bout 7:oo with #8 at 6:00 #8 should be next to a distributor cap screw if you are still using the point type system. Timing is 10 degrees BTDC for manual trans and 12 degrees BTDC for automatic. Of course with today's fuel that may give you all kind of spark knock as well.
