Unable to turn ignition switch. Car is in park,
I have tried repeatedly to turn wheels enough to free up ignition switch release, to no avail. I was suspect that I may have somehow activated the security system however, when I'm in the drivers seat and insert the key into the ignition switch the blinking "security" light will go off after several flashes and the ignition switch is still stuck in the off position.

Try spraying something like WD-40 in the mechanism. I have had this happen a few times and the spray always cured the problem.

Try tapping on the "end of the key" a couple times with a hard object, then try it. If this works, you need to lube the lock cylinder(the part the key goes into). I replaced mine with a new one though. Didn't want to tap the key each time to start for the next? Years. Good luck.
