The windshield wipers make a grinding sound when u turn then on but dont move you have to pull them opne by hand and then then will start the to move open then go back to resting place on thier own but wont start or continue

I just had this happen to me while I was driving during a rain storm. The gear box had stripped out so the wipers would stop. I went to a junk yard and found a whole different wiper motor and assembly. Not too bad to replace the whole thing for a do it yourselfer.
