1991 Plymouth Sundance Sundance Won't Start / Turn Over

1991 Sundance won't turn over. Neutral switch is OK. Relay clicks when ignition switch is engaged. Don't really want to remove starter if I don't have to. Looking to check relay. Per Rasamataz's suggestion removed yellow wire from relay. Where should power be when ign switch engaged? Thanks

Have helper hold key at start position you go check for power on the yellow wire disconnected from the starter relay-No power the ignition switch went bye bye power present check the brown wire on the park and neutral switch-nothing there you have an open wire between the P/N switch and the starter relay. Power present on the brown wire the P/N switch is defective or needs adjustment. It has to ground the starter relay in order to complete the circuit to the starter solenoid.

OK. Thanks for that info. There is power to the yellow wire. There is also power to the brown wire on the P/N switch (with cap removed) but only about 8 volts.>>>>Checked it again with the relay re-connected and the terminal cap on the P/N switch and there is 12 volts. I don't understand how the switch could be bad if there was current with and without the terminal cap.

>>>>Checked P/N switch against a new one and looks like it WAS bad. Replaced but still nothing. Previous owner says it is probably coil pack and/or the round thing under the distributor that has a 3-terminal plug that goes into wiring harness in front of the engine. Can't seem to find out what this is. Ideas? Thanks.

Is the vehicle cranking over and refuses to start or it won't crank at all/nothing?
