Is there a easier way to get to the bolts than removing the whole windshield wiper assembly?

Good morning,

No, there is not. This is one of the times you want the guy that designed this to actually perform this procedure. It is a very poor design for anyone who needs to do this.

Strut Assembly Replacement

Removal Procedure
1. Remove wiper module.

2. Remove the upper strut mounting nuts.
3. Raise and support the vehicle.
4. Remove the tire and wheel.

5. Scribe the strut to the steering knuckle.

6. Remove the strut lower mounting bolts and nuts.
7. Remove the strut.

Installation Procedure
1. Install the strut to the vehicle.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the strut upper nuts.
Tighten the strut upper nuts to 30 Nm (22 ft. Lbs.).
3. Install the wiper module refer to Wiper Motor Module Replacement.

4. Install the strut lower bolts and nuts. Hand tighten only.

5. Install the tire and wheel.
6. Inspect and adjust the camber as necessary.
7. Lower the vehicle.
