I accidentally put my car in park while driving about forty to forty five mph this was just tonight. I drove about a mile after and parked it at home have not started it yet. What damage could I have done?

Hello, I am Danny.

Well, if you would have done major damage you would not have been able to get home or it would have shut off right there on the spot. Have you noticed any transmission fluid on the ground where parked? Give it a try and let us know! Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros. We look forward to hearing back with a status report.

I do not see any transmission fluid on the ground, but I am more concerned about what minor damage could have been done. It does not seem to be slipping or anything like that. Gears change fine, car still holds in park on hills.

Hello again.

Consider it lucky. I do not believe you did any damage then. You will know within fifty miles or so of driving if the TCM (Transmission Control Module) will turn the Check Engine Light on. Hope this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.
