I have a p1760 code which is for the transmission clutch solenoid and was wondering where it is located and what it looks like. Also, the steering is stiff and hard to turn especially when making a turn. There is no noise from the pump and not sure if it’s the u joint coming from the steering wheel. Need help please and thank you.

This solenoid is part of the valve-body which is inside the transmission. I have attached the testing that needs to be done in order to find the issue. I would not recommend just replacing the solenoid because it is not the easiest part to replace and it may not be the issue so we need to do the testing first.

As for the steering issue, this sounds like a pump issue but again, we have some testing to find out for sure. Most then likely the pressure is low due to a weak pump but I would want to confirm that first because the pump is not the cheapest to just replace it.

Let me know if you have questions.

That is hard to say with an issue like this because the ones that I know will give you the data monitoring of the TCM are really expensive. There are a lot of options online around $100.00 to $150.00 that say they give live data but this is normally just engine sensor data. It won't communicate with other modules like TCM or ABS. So I would just research and call the support lines of the tools you are looking at and have them confirm it will help with this issue.

I just don't want to recommend one that appears will work and you buy it and then it doesn't do what you need.
