Hello, I have a Toyota Voxy "though I had to fake the name to Corolla since I can't find it on the brand list ". Pops up a check engine light after it has start moving. I used my car code reader to clear the dtc code which was P1589 but the problem is still there. What might be the problem?

Hi,

The vehicle isn't offered in the US, so mu technical info is very limited. However, I will try to help.

The code deals with the throttle control system. Has anything been worked on recently? What is the vehicle doing?

Let me know.
Joe

I replaced a CVT chain from there the car started jerking when shifting from park to drive, drive to reverse and vice versa but there was no check engine light. I cleaned all sensors allocated on the gearbox after that the jerking disappeared but the check engine light popped up. I cleared the fault and the check engine went off. After driving for like 2 miles the check engine popped up again.I checked the faults code on my obd code scanner and it was P1589 "acceleration sensor learning value ". I have tried to clearer the code but after driving for about a distance of one meter the check engine light come on again. What might be the problem?

I suspect the system needs to complete a relearn procedure. I hate to say it, but I don't have it for this vehicle. By chance, do you have a contact where you are located that can do it for you?

I wish I had a better answer for you. However, I can't be sure, but I suspect that is what needs done. You may have to see a dealership.
