I had a P0980 code so I went and replaced the 4-5 transmission shift solenoid, transmission fluid and basic tune up. Now it is still throwing the code and now it is P0700 showing up too. Do I just need to drive it to fix that or is there something more going on?

Hello,

Direct Trouble Code (DTC) P0980 is for Shift Solenoid 3 Circuit High Voltage. Basically this saying that the shift solenoid has a short to power and should be replaced. DTC P0700 is simply a request from the Transmission Control Module (TCM) to the Engine Control Management (ECM) to set a DTC and turn the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) on.
I have included DTC descriptions and troubleshooting in the diagrams down below. Please go through them and get back us with what you figure out please.

Thanks,
Alex
