Hi,

The code is specific to the transmission and the torque convert clutch circuit. This vehicle has a clutch in the torque converter which can wear out and no longer engage. Also, there is a torque converter clutch lock-up solenoid that may have failed. Although the code is specific to a mechanical issue (see pic 1) I have seen the solenoid cause the fault.

Although there are other things that may have set the code such as the transmission control module, the two aforementioned issues are most common.

So, what I need to know is this. When driving at highway speed, is the engine speed higher than normal? For example, in the past at 60 mph the engine was running at 2,000 RPMs and now it is at 3,000 RPMs. Also, is this a 5-speed or 6-speed transmission?

Keep in mind, if that is the only code you have, the vehicle should drive properly other than a possible higher RPM issue and poor shifting quality.

Let me know how the vehicle is acting and if you hear any odd sounds.

Take care,

Joe
