I have a p0299 code under boost but have also noticed a small leak from the gear box. The code only comes on when I am in 6th gear going 60+MPH. The wastegate actuator was sticking also but that is getting replaced when a the new one arrives.

The error code P0299 indicates a potential issue with the turbocharger or supercharger underboost condition.

The wastegate actuator is sticking a new one is on the way to replace and hopefully that is the fix. Could the leak from the gear box also contribute to the lack of boost?

I don't think the transmission leak is from low boost, good find on the problem though, let me know if that fixes it. Please start a new question for the leak. Please post your new question here, you must be logged in.

New actuator arrived today and is fitted. After a nice motorway run all seems fine and engine performance seems to have increased. So hopefully that has worked.

Now onto the transmission leak. Grr

Alas, it wasn't the actuator after all still have the same error code coming up. The leak also isn't from the transmission, it appears to be coming from the throttle body either from one of the hoses or the actual assembly itself. Could this cause the P0299?

I don't think so, can I ask if you changed out the boost sensor?

Caved in and took it to the local garage. Turns out the throttle body was full of oil and also the pipes going into it. Going down the replacement turbo route.
