My check engine light came on giving me these two codes, P0008 and P0017, and had my camshaft senser replaced. The codes came back. My car has 189,000 miles with rough idle.

This can happen when the camshaft oil control solenoids get clogged up or stop working. Also, make sure the engine oil is clean and full. Here is the location of the actuators so you can remove them to check the screen at the engine of the valve. Here is more information on the problem:

The error codes P0008 and P0017 in your 2007 Cadillac SRX are related to the camshaft position and crankshaft position correlation. Here's an explanation of each code:

P0008: This code indicates that there is an issue with the engine's camshaft position sensor bank 1, and the engine's crankshaft position sensor correlation. It suggests that there is a timing problem between the camshaft and crankshaft positions in bank 1 of the engine.

P0017: This code is similar to P0008 but applies to camshaft position sensor bank 1 and 2 correlation. It signifies a timing issue between the camshaft and crankshaft positions in both banks of the engine.

Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
