2000 Oldsmobile Silhouette windshield wiper problem

My 2000 oldsmobile silhouette wipers stop in the up position when on intermittent between wipes but stop down when off. The wiper motor just died and I thought that maybe when I put a new one in it would fix the problem, but I still have the same problem with the new motor. Any idea what I can do to get them to stop down when on intermittent?

I had the same problem with mine. It still did it after the new motor was installed. We went back over it and found out that you have to follow the directions that come with the motor to a T. Before attaching the wipers to the motor you have to do what it says about turning on and shutting off after certain number of rotations of the motor. Hope this helps and hope you still have those directions.
