Hi, I have a 2000 Oldsmobile Bravada with 104,000 miles and a 4.3 L V6. Well I took my car to get looked at and a mechanic told me that my rear wheel bearings were loose. He said that the he couldn't just replace the bearings he would have to replace the hub. well my question is what kind of tools would i need and is that a job I would be able to do myself. If you can give me some direction I will appreciate it thanks.

The hub and bearings on many newer cars is one complete unit. In effect you are replacing the hub and bearings. Most auto part stores and tell you if that is the case for your vehicle.
