Please help. I have an Olds. Aurora 98 that overheats excessively. I have changed the thermostat 3 times along with repl. The water pump. Ac tensioner w/belt, new radiator and bottom raiator hoses. The thermostat appeared. To work after replacing. This is my last ultimatium b4 considering buying engine ( I love the car) please help me. I can not afford any more guesses. There is alot of white smoke coming from the exhaust. The vehicle is at 150,000 miles.

Sounds like headgasket is gone, could also be the head or block is cracked

Have it block and pressure tested-do the block first to pinpoint a combustion leaking into the cooling system or a gas analyzer to sniff for hydrocarbons at the radiator fill neck.

Pressure test: do not do a pressure test if there's leakage at the headgasket this might cause coolant into the cylinders and lock it up or bend a connecting rod if cranked thereafter. The headgasket should be repaired before doing the pressure test.
