 Hello, I just purchased a 95 Olds Aurora. The Idle speed control motor kept clicking when the vehicle was turned off. Also shifted into reverse rather roughly. I replaced the idle speed control motor, and when I started the vehicle the RPM;s were very very high. I turned it orr immediately. I did notice on the old one, the screw that goes into the motor had play in it. I could push it up and down. I do not know if that is normal as the new one did not do this. ON the new one, I also had to insert the screw, which I put in the same distance as on the old one. When putting the new one back onto the car, It pushed against the striker bar which opened up the air intake (or is it called the butterfly intake) and left it opened when I tightned the bolts. Any help you could give me on this would be appreciated. It is my only vehicle and now I am stuck

I have a 95 aurora with 206,000 miles. It also makes the clicking noise after the ignition is turned off as well as immediately after start-up. After a few minutes, it quits. After your comments, don't think I'll try a new idle motor yet. Hope someone knows what causes this.
