2002 Merc Sable-Trans Fluid change

I had the dealer do a transmission fluid change and they didn't change the filter. Does that sound normal to you? They extracted the old fluid through the trans cooling hoses. I wish they would've pulled the pan and changed the filter. Also, they charged me for 16 qts of Mercon V fluid. According to a repair manual I have the tranny only holds about 12 or 13 qts. I'll hang up now and listen to your reply. :Shock:

I would point that number of quarts of tranny fluid to them and get you money back. And yes it is common for dealships to change tranny fluid without changing the filter, (on newer cars)
