My drivers side power window stopped working. Got out my manual to check things out. It said to hook the motor straight to the battery to check it. Reverse the wires and check again. The diagram in my manual shows two wires, however I have 8 or more wires going to my motor. Any idea which one of these wires I need to use to check if it is working? Also my manual has nothing on replacing the motor. How is it removed? How many bolts holds it in place and what is the trick to getting it out?

Most of those go to what I would guess to be an (auto-down) feature. If you remove the door panel there should only be two wires plugged into the motor. The window has to be removed from the regulator and secured up out of the way. Most reg's are held in the door with pop-rivets, they will have to be drilled out. The motor can then be removed from the reg. Sometimes they too are held on with pop-rivets. Be careful with the reg, Im not sure about that one, but some have a spring. If so secure it in a vise so it doesnt jump when the motor is removed
