Help! I have a 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue with a little over 70,000 miles and recently I have noticed that the car has been shifting and idling hard. Yesterday my service engine soon light came on and shortly after I was stopped at a stoplight and my car lurched slightly forward. Since then all of the above have just gotten worse. Any ideas of what could be wrong?

Best to have the code/s pulled. Some chain parts houses will do this for free. Mignt just need a tuneup. Codes will narrow it down.

Good luck and let us know. :)

Unfortunately my car didn't make it to my appointment I had scheduled for this morning! As I was driving home from work last night it died on the side of the road - needless to say it has been towed and I am awaiting the diagnosis! I have asked around and I have heard everything from transmission problems to alternators going bad to clogged fuel injectors...they all sound expensive to me! :(
