Hello. I have a couple issues with my 1998 Olds achieva and I am hoping you can help. First, this car has 140,000 miles on it. It is a 3.1L V 6, SL, 4 door automatic. First issue: Right after starting it in the morning, you hear a "clicking" sound originating from under the hood, passenger side, near the passenger tire. The sound is "click, click, click" like something is trying to turn on, then goes silent for about 30 seconds, then goes thru another series of clicks. This will go on for a couple mins then stop alltogether. My brother thinks it may be the ABS relay. I am not sure sure. See there also is a problem with the ABS light coming on. When you first begin to drive the car, the "low track" light will pop on. If you drive the car "straight" a few feet it goes off. If you turn the car right away with the light on, the ABS light will then pop on. Freaky I know. Usually the low track light will come on first, followed by the ABS light. The of course the ETS light off will come on too. I am not sure if the clicking noise has anything to do with the tracktion control or ABS system. But I sure would love to solve this mystery. The car runs great and drives beautifully except this and I want to try and fix but don't know where to begin. Any thoughts?

Ps. You can be driving down the highway and the ABS and ETS light will just pop on, so basically the system turns off. But I never get the clicking noise, except when you first start the car in the morning after sitting all night.

Check the abs sensor wire to the wheel, it may have chaffed against the rim or tire. If the clicking is related to the abs, it's because the system runs a check when first started!
