1987 Oldsmobile Delta 88 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

just replaced timing chain and gears and oil pan gasket. Car starts and runs fine, but when on hiway at about 45-55 mph check engine light comes on. Still runs fine and if you stop and restart doesnt come on again till same speed

Cross these two terminals as shown with a piece of wire, then turn the key on. Count the flashes, a 22 will flash as 2 flashes then a short pause, then 2 flashes, if more than one code is stored, the pause will be longer. The codes will display three times and end with 12. Write them down and post here. This connector is right under the middle of the dash...

You connect jumper wire between terminals A & B at the datalink connector, turn key to on, no crank. The check engine starts flashing, you count the flashes to get the codes. These are two digit codes. If the lite is coming on, there should be a code?
