Can I swap the 3100 engine in my cutlass for a 3400 engine out of a 96 Pontiac transport? Will my trans. Bolt up to the 3400? Thanks for responding to my question!

Yes if I remember correctly, these two engines have the same block, the only difference is the upper plenum etc. Both engine compartments are designed for both engine sizes. Tranny's are also the same
