1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass 6 cyl Automatic 111, 00 miles

I was driving this morning in very cold new york city. 30 minutes in, there was a LOUD noise whenever I accelerated. I drove on for ten minutes to the safety of my school. What happened? Please advise. I only have the car for two weeks. Thanks.

Hi:
Could you tell in general where the noise came from? Also, did the car continue to run or did it have problems after the noise? Finally, can you try to describe the noise?
