Hello,
It could be Tensioner Pulley, to test have can of wd40 or similar, before starting vehicle spray center of pulley, start vehicle if whining stops replace pulley.
Turn Vehicle off
If whine is still there feel the center nut on the Alternator be careful it maybe very hot. If it is and vehicle only ran for a minute or 2 then spray the best you can behind the pulley of the alternator. Start vehicle if whine is gone replace alternator(bearings going bad).
