I have a 89 cutlass supreme when I bout it the engine light was on I replaced the upper intake manifold gasket both coolant temp sensors/sender the pigtail wire for the sender and the thermostat.
The engine light is now off but everytime I drive anywhere no matter the distance the temp light comes on. Anyone kno what could be wrong?

No it reads around 216 then one of the fans kicks in. I was told that thats ok. But I am wondering why the light stays on.

Actually, that is getting hot, but not hot enough to set a light. You may want to try replacing the temp sending unit. It may be causing the light to come on too soon.
