1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass how do you check the transmision fl

1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

Just wanted to know how to check transmision fluid in this car. Also need to know if it is supposed to be running and in park or something else. Thanks

Start the car and let it idle for 15 minutes (you can also drive it for 15 minutes). While in park or neutral check the dipstick. It's labeled 'TRANS FLUID' and is located near the firewall behind the engine.
