What could be the cause of pressure building in the engine. It seems that my car is burning oil really bad and when I had the oil changed that is when the problem started. I bought all the materials and paid the mechanic to do the oil change. My car only uses synthetic oil. I purchased valvoline synthetic 10w-30.

HI, Most likely cause would be a bad or wrong PCV valve or the hose that connects it to the carberator. Unplug hose from PVC and see if it makes a diff. If it does not, then passages in carberator and or intake may be clogged up. You will have to remove carberator to check & clean if it is stopped up.
Hope this helps.
