Sounds like the ABS sensors may have a problem. They are used to sense the difference in wheel speed to activate the SmartTrack system. If there is an ABS fault the system will not operate. The ABS light will come on when the wheels are off the ground.

Im having the same problems. My ABS service light is on, and when i use my brakes, right before a complete stop, it makes some noise and the brake pedal kicks back on my foot, like when the abs is working, but it is happening all the time in my car even on dry surfaces. Few days ago i noticed that the AWD is not working while i was driving on some snow. I had no service light on for AWD but i had service brakes messages and my mechanic after reading the codes said i have bad sensors. You think after i fix my brakes i will have my AWD working as well?? Thanks in advance.
