1997 Oldsmobile Bravada 97' Olds Bravada

I have a 97' Olds Bravada with smart traks and 107,000 original miles. Here in the last few months when I back up or turn either direction I hear a loud popping noise. My husband has had the SUV checked and we can not seem to find out what the problem is. There have been no check engine lights and the truck is driving fine. I just want to nip the problem in the butt before it gets any worse.

Any suggestions as to what the problem is?

Does the sound seem to come from under the car in the front area?

Yes, the sound tends to come from the left front driver side. I notice it more if I am backing up or turning my wheel sharp.

Check to make sure the rear brake baking plate isn't bent and hitting the rotor. Also, I would have someone check the ball joints.
