1995 Oldsmobile Aurora engine light on, stays in sec gear

The engine light comes on and it will not come out of 2 gear when you cut engine off for about 5mins its fine then it comes back on and stays in sec gear

Take it to a nationally recognized parts store and have them scan the engine for codes. If the light is on, it will identify where the problem is coming from. NOTE: Most parts stores will scan it for free.
