I have a 2003 olds Alero. I have been getting a growl and vibration in the front left of the car. The growl gets worse as you turn to the left and goes away when you turn to the right. According to everybody I talked to it would be the left front wheel bearing and hub. So I ordered and installed a new one. The bearing was really bad. Pitted and rusted and hardly spun. When I took the car out for a test drive to my dismay the problem was still there. I know the bearing needed replaced so Im not upset about the loss of time and money but I am frustrated cuz I have no idea what is causing the problem now

If the left side was that bad, jack the right side up see if there is any play in the wheel, then remove the tire and spint the hub by hand, you might FEEL it if it's gone! If its OK you may have a bad carrier bearing. What did you torque the axle nut to on the side you replaced?
