My belt seems to be squeaking, mostly when it is cold outside: does it need replacing? How big of a job is it?

It probably needs replacing. When you take the belt off, spin all the pulleys to make sure one is not squeeking. Just draw a picture of how the belt is routed before you take it off, its not hard.
