My ABS & brake idiot lights have been on for about 2 weeks. I took the car to my independent mechanic and their diagnostics said I needed a new module (aluminum housing with a computer chip). That was about $800 parts and labor.

Then they say my ABS pump is shot. $400 for parts, labor =? Then they say it may not be the pump but rather the $800 modulator.

THis could be over $2000 in repairs. Something does not sound right. I don't think my care is worth much more than $2000.

What do you suggest?

Thanks
Robert

I suggest you get some other opinions, definitely not a dealer(you think two thousand is high, go to a dealer). Always get a second and third opinion if something doesnt sound right. And just try to find the parts your self and have them put it on(just pay for labor) sometimes they dont like that, because they like to charge three times the cost of the part, but hey, your not there to please them.
